With about 27,000 residents, South Maui (Kihei and Wailea) is one of our main ‘living’ areas on the island. Condos, homes, shops, and restaurants galore, you may not have a reason to leave!
KIHEI
Kihei is a great combination of homes and condos along a stretch of plentiful sandy beaches. There are shops and restaurants all along Kihei Rd – plenty to see and do. Water sports win the day in Kihei – outrigger canoeing, paddle boarding, swimming, snorkeling, SCUBA – all available right from shore. Some favorite eateries include Nutcharee’s Thai, Java Cafe, Paia Fish Market Kihei, and Cafe O Lei. I’ve helped clients find properties from North to South Kihei . There’s something (and somewhere) for everyone!
WAILEA/MAKENA
Wailea/Makena is South Maui’s high-end resort area. Resorts like Grand Wailea, Four Seasons, Kea Lani, and Andaz set the tone for the area. It’s quiet, well-manicured, and a lovely area to live. While there are several single family home neighborhoods tucked into the area, there are also several condo options (both vacation rentable and not), including Grand Champions, Wailea Fairway Villas, and Kai Malu. The Shops at Wailea offer great shopping and delicious restaurants, and regular entertainment. My must-do in the area is stopping by Honolulu Coffee Company for a soy latte or an acai bowl. Yum!
